I have been called a Dilettante several times in my life. It was not said in a negative way, but more in a creative sense of the word.  The definition of Dilettante is:
A person who takes up an art, activity, or subject merely for amusement, especially in a desultory or superficial way; dabbler.A lover of an art or science, especially of a fine art.

While I am a dabbler, there is nothing superficial about the way I write.  Sure, sometimes it’s whimsical, and other times serious, but above all, I try to be honest.  My posts, and the site’s mission is to observe life and share experiences.  What more is there?  And, I always hope to relate to the reader on some level.  I think all writers feel that way.

Voices matter.  Everyone’s writing may not be your “cup of tea”, some will enjoy it, while others won’t.  Luckily, this group has more than one writer.  Dilettante is slowly adding Contributors, and we’d love you to join.  It is a community site of writers, providing a creative outlet to share your work.  The more writers and dedicated readers we have, the better.
